Title: Fly Away From Here Author: Jade Feedback: jade27_al@yahoo.com Pairing: Jay/Silent Bob sorta kinda a little barely Rating: PG prolly. Dear lord.. did I just write a gen fic!? Status: New Archive: Yes Disclaimer: I own nothing, Kevin Smith is the creative mastermind behind Jay and Bob. All hail Kev. Bow before his sleeveless sweatshirted glory. The lyrics are from "Fly Away from here" by Aerosmith Notes: Song fic. I got Just Push Play for my birthday and this song forced a fic upon me. It's seems like a flip version of another fic I read recently... can't remember whose though.. *looks towards starla* ------------------------------------------------------- [Gotta find a way Yeah I can't wait another day Ain't nothin' gonna change If we stay 'round here] A young blonde boy of about 16 laid curled up on his bed in his room. The lights were off, and it was completely silent. But the boy was far from asleep. An occasional choked sob or sniffle escaped from him, but that was all. It had been another one of those nights. His mother, if she could called that, was.. somewhere. He didn't know. He never knew. And when he did know where she was, he didn't know where she was mentally. Some days she showered him with affection, other days she seemed to absolutely loath his presence. He wished there were more affectionate days. But it was usually the latter. And he would have ended it all long, long ago if not for the one constant in his life. His short, dark-haired, silent companion. Silent Bob he called him. They both thought the name was funny, so he'd kept on calling Silent Bob Silent Bob. Eventually the novelty of the name wore off, and it seemed like that was just his birth name. Silent Bob was the only thing that kept him sane. The only thing that kept him alive. Silent Bob didn't judge him when he cried on his shoulder after an unwanted encounter with one of his mom's boyfriends. Silent Bob would just hug him and let him cry until he fell asleep. Then he'd tuck the blonde boy into his bed and sleep on the floor. Silent Bob was his only escape. [If this life gets any harder now it ain't no never mind you got me by your side and anytime you want yeah we can catch a train and find a better place] Thud. Thud. The blonde boy sniffled and looked up at the window to see who was tapping, half expect it to be his mom's perverted boyfriend again. His face broke into a grin as he saw who it really was. Silent Bob, speak of the fuckin' devil. Slowly, painfully, the blonde crawled out of bed and opened the window. "What're you doin' you stupid shit? It's fuckin' pouring out there." He sighed as Silent Bob climbed into the room. Silent Bob just cocked his head and lifted an eyebrow in question. "Mom's fuckin' queer of a boyfriend.." He sniffled, choking back a sob. "He.. he.." That was all he had to say. It was more than he needed to say. Silent Bob stepped forward and wrapped his arms around the boy, who immediately latched on and started crying. Crying for all he was worth. Silent Bob just rubbed comforting circles on his back and held him. It was a near nightly routine. A routine that was about to be broken. "We're leaving, Jay." Bob whispered into the boy's ear. Jay's head shot up from Bob's shoulder. Hard, broken flicks of brown meeting with their soft, comforting brown counterparts. "You're moving?" He whimpered, afraid that his whole world was about to finish crashing down around him. "We're moving Jay. You and Me." Jay blinked, then a huge grin broke onto his face. "Fuck yeah! This is gonna be so fuckin' cool Silent Bob! Get a fuckin' apartment or some shit, it's gonna fuckin' rule!" He hopped around happily for a moment before the pain made him wince and stop. Silent Bob winced as Jay did, then sat him down on the bed and started looking around. "Suitcase is in the closet. Just throw some clothes in there. Mom can keep the rest of this shit. She'll probably pawn it anyway. A nice 'Fuck you and farewell' to her." Silent Bob nodded and started packing Jay's things. [Do you see a bluer sky now? You can have a better life now Open your eyes Cuz no one can here can ever stop us They can try but we won't let them No way] Jay stretched out on the old couch in the middle of the living room. It wasn't much of an apartment, only one bedroom and small as all get out, furnished with what they could steal or buy from like, second hand second hand stores. But it was cheap. About $300 a month, with utilities. It was hard living away from home financially, but fuck if he wasn't happy. He'd seen his mom once or twice since he'd left 6 months ago, but she'd been too high on whatever the fuck she was on that day to recognize him. Which was fine. He didn't need anyone, save Silent Bob. As long as he had Silent Bob, everything would be alright. [We'll just fly away from here our hopes and dreams are out there somewhere fly away from here yeah anywhere honey I don't, I don't, I don't care We'll just fly...]
