hrm . . . why slash jay and silent bob, eh? well, here are my thoughts on the subject.

first of all, slash is hot and jay is hot -- therefore, jay needs to be incorporated into slash somehow. i remember the day i realized it too -- december 13, 2003, the day i wrote my first (CERTAINLY not last) jay/bob fic. what better person to be involved with jay in slash than silent bob? after all, they are best friends. they already feel some kind of connection with each other -- it's basically up to the author to make their connection slashy (and believable). i don't know. personally, i don't really think about silent bob that much when i'm writing fic but that's only because jay is so freaking hot that i mostly picture HIM when it comes to good old shonen-ai. for this reason, i'll explain why jay is so fun to slash.

jay (and i told this theory to a non-slasher friend who isn't attracted in the slightest to jason mewes or kevin smith -- she replied "fuck you you bitch") is one of those rare dominant-submissives that works GREAT in slash. in other words, he is the kind of guy that would force YOU to fuck HIS brains out. while in a lot of the stories that i've read (and written) he plays the sort of feminine role, he does it in a really masculine way. in a way silent bob shares this double-sided quality -- he is usually portrayed as the more emotional of the two but when it comes to the X-rated scenes, he's on top. it's a beautiful thing. i don't think the awesomeness of this pairing has much to do with the dealer/muscle aspect of their relationship -- most of the jay/silent bob awesomeness has to do with just the way they are. (can you tell i don't know what the word "canon" means? :P)

justice can go play in traffic for all i care. she is probably the most pointless and certainly the most annoying member of the askewniverse. the ONLY reason i even slightly didn't despise her was that she gave jay a reason to mouth "you wanna fuck?" into the camera (i saw j&sbsb with that same non-slasher friend i mentioned earlier and mouthed back to the television "hell yeah, i wanna fuck" -- she punched me in the arm :P). yeah, long story short -- justice doesn't fit in. justice belongs in hell.

hope my perspective helps!
